Indigenous Health
Indigenous, Land-Kinned, and subaltern Peoples continue to experience Imperialism through land grabs, ecocide, and exclusion. This results in health inequities from homelands to urban communities they can be forced into.
-
This programme focuses on the various Peoples who are being displaced from the Lands due to climate change and/or extractivism. This forcing them to migrate to urban environments, such as London. London, now have large populations of Indigenous/Land-Kinned Peoples from all over the world.
Healing justice cannot happen without being in solidarity with more-than-human Kin, which includes the Land, Air, and Water.
-
We have two strategies, the first is to work with the communities living in London as well as within their territory (to avoid future forced migration). Working with Indigenous/Land-Kinned (I/LK) Peoples also provides us with the opportunity to weave ecological solidarity into our work. I/LK Peoples have historically had a strong relationship with the Land, making them experts in Land relations and technologies that can help bring us closer to regulating planetary systems.

Indigenous Peoples are from all over the world and cover various and distinct cultures, languages, practices and knowledges. It is not a race nor is it a monolith. Colonisation has affected Indigenous Peoples in varied and unique ways, ripping some of us from Ancestral Lands, Peoples, and culture whilst others are currently fighting to keep their territories as colonisation continues to evolve.
